This is based on some images I made in Sicily in 2019 (though the art deco facade was added later). It was around 4pm on a hot, still afternoon; we were the only people by the pool, and I was the only one awake. The quiet was absolute and the tranquility complete.
Yet - even the most restful-looking situation
can mask our silent insecurities.
