I remember annual childhood holidays spent visiting my grandmother, when getting there involved a complex journey on three trains which took most of a day. Changing trains in Manchester, we always had to take a taxi from Victoria to Piccadilly; this is how I imagine the taxi rank might have looked
later in the day.
